Dr. Konys was born and raised in Syracuse. After graduating from Jamesville-DeWitt High School in 1976, he went on to study Biology and Art at Union College and completed his Dental School training at Boston University’s School of Graduate Dentistry in 1984. His four year surgical residency was served at Boston City Hospital, New England Medical Center, and Boston University Medical Center.
Dr. Konys returned to the Syracuse area to begin private practice in 1988 and has been an active member of the professional community ever since. He was a clinical instructor for the St. Joseph’s Hospital General Dentistry Residency Program, and holds hospital privileges at Community General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital. In addition, he is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, New York Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Fifth District Dental and Onondaga County Dental Societies, and the International Association of Oral and maxillofacial Surgeons.
Along with his wife Caren, Dr. Konys has enjoyed raising their five children in Central New York. In his free time, he enjoys golf, hanging out with friends and family, and anything associated with the Syracuse Orangemen. If you cut him open, Dr. Konys will bleed orange.
